Abstract: Objective: To determine if there is a relationship between social skills and risk behaviors in fifth-grade adolescents of the Almirante Miguel Grau Educational Institution, Marcona - Ica, 2021. Material and Method: Applied type study, relational level. The sample consisted of 135 adolescents; a acale consisting of 33 items for the social skills variable and a 10-item questionnaire for the risk behaviors variable was used to collect information. Spearman's Rho test was used to evaluate relationships between variables. Results: Of the participants with respect to the levels of social skills, 28.8% have a low level, 66.6% have a medium level and 4.4% a high level. On the other hand, according to risk behaviors, 14.4% have a low level, followed by 54.8% medium level and 30.4% high level. Social skills show a high positive correlation with risk behaviors, due to the values obtained from (Spearman's Rho = 0.813; p = 0.000). Conclusion: It was found that there is a significant, positive and high correlation between social skills and risk behaviors in adolescents in the fifth grade of secondary school of the Almirante Miguel Grau educational institution, Marcona - Ica, 2021.
